Spikenard Essential oil is also known as Jatamansi Essential oil, this is because this oil is derived through steam distillation of the roots of Nardodtaachys Jatamansi. This is a flowering plant found in the Himalayas. Spikenard oil has been used for thousands of years as a perfume or incense, over time many health and beauty benefits of this oil have been unearthed. Spikenard Essential oil owes its fame to aromatherapists and yogis, who praise its ability to calm the mind while improving mood and sleep.

Profile

The aroma of the Spikenard Essential Oil is very deep musky, earthy, woody and rich. The color of the oil is rich amber and has a medium viscosity.

Uses

It can be blended with most essential oils particularly those belonging to herb and floral families.

For a good night’s sleep, add Spikenard oil along with Lavender Essential oil in a diffuser to create a relaxing environment.
Dilute the spikenard essential oil with coconut or olive oil and apply it to give cooling effect to sun-burnt skin. Furthermore its anti-fungal properties help soothe skin irritation and rashes.
You can also have a calming bath by adding 2 to 5 drops of the oil to bath salts and then to your bath water.
Spikenard Oil helps promote hair growth, for shiny long hair just mix 2 to 3 drops of the oil in a conditioner and apply while shampooing

Directions

Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.

Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.

Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area.
