Botanically known as Sclerocarya birrea, Marula tree is native to southern parts of African grasslands such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, and Swaziland. It is a member of the same botanical family Anacardiaceae as Cashew, Mango, and Pistachio trees. The fruit of this tree has yellowish skin with white flesh.
