Is It Safe To Put Essential Oils Directly On To Your Skin?

The reason is Essential Oils, unlike Carrier Oils are concentrated compounds that may irritate your skin. Though the intensity of irritation may vary from person to person, still you should not use them undiluted on skin. Even after diluting, we recommend doing a PATCH TEST. It helps in ruling out possible irritation at an early stage before applying it in large quantities.

Add in a small quantity of EO to a carrier oil and dilute it as per its dilution guidelines. Read product labels for that carefully as not all oils are created equal. Take a band aid and apply that mixture to it. Now place that band aid on the inside of the forearm and leave for at least 1-2 days. Check if the skin around or under the bandage is looking suspicious.

It may turn red, itchy, swollen or develop blisters. In that case, you're TESTED POSITIVE for allergies to this specific EO. That's okay, you can try an alternative option with similar healing properties. Test it and continue if you feel it's safe to use.

Please NOTE, allergic reactions may not necessarily show up right after removing the bandage. There's a chance that you may feel allergic a day later. So, make sure you're giving it enough time before slathering it all over.

Some of the top carrier oils that are used for diluting blends include Fractionated Coconut Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and Avocado Oil. So, there're many options to choose from even if you're not good with one, depending on what you're doing or what aroma or therapeutic gains you plan to achieve using these aromatic compounds.

And DON'T use fragrance oils at all. They're bad for your skin and contribute to aging and skin related issues in the long run. So better buy USDA Certified Organic Essential Oils & Carrier Oils only!!!
